About the Team

The Assembly and Final Test Engineering team at ZF Transmissions in Gray Court, SC, consists of approximately 25 engineers who report to an Engineering Manager. This team focuses primarily on the production of electric motors (e-motors) as well as transmissions, collaborating closely with manufacturing engineers, controls technicians, and the IT department. Located at ZF's largest manufacturing site in North America, the Gray Court plant offers abundant learning opportunities and significant room for professional growth. This dynamic environment fosters cross-functional teamwork and continuous development.

What you can look forward to as a Manufacturing Controls Engineer Design changes to enhance the machine functionality.  Continuously improve and upgrade equipment.  Troubleshoot and solve errors and problems on production equipment.  Plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.  Confers with design staff concerning product design to ensure efficient production methods.  Determines product specifications for the purchase of equipment, materials, tooling, fixturing or parts, according to specifications and quality standards.  Assess potential suppliers for production equipment, tooling and fixturing.  Responsible for the implementation of the equipment on the floor from delivery to hand off to production.  Your profile as a Manufacturing Controls Engineer Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (BSME strongly preferred). 1+ years of experience with strong functional / product knowledge.  Hands-on experience with PLC and Controls in manufacturing environment. Prior experience in Siemens PLC S7/Tia Portal and programming is highly preferred. Proficient computer skills, strong MS Office (Excel) and knowledge. Good communication skills both verbal and written.  Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within Engineering.  Advanced knowledge of product line(s) and engineering design principles.
