Reports to the Department Manager of Production Engineering for the development of electrical controls of automation equipment used on production lines. Assesses electrical components of existing controls for repair, replacement, and/or modification. Evaluates the need and feasibility of new controls. Create and maintain PLC programming for production equipment.
Responsibilities Design and build controls for new automation. Develop schematic diagrams for wiring.Estimate costs for controls of new automation and maintenance of existing automation.Manage vendors and independent contractors used for new equipment and repair.Write new programming for new automation and troubleshooting existing programs.Knowledge of maintenance of production engineering designed databases, serial number software, and other databases.Responsible for familiarity with mechanical design of production line equipment and conveyor systems.Other duties as assigned. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 4 years of experience or 12 years related experience.
PLC programming experience required.
Proficient in controls design, building, and programming.

Compensation for this position
The compensation range for this role is $51,800- $97,000. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
