As a Manufacturing Controls Systems Engineer, you will join Trane’s best-in-class Commercial HVAC team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in building efficiency and sustainability through our Service offerings.

 

In this role, you will coordinate, organize, and supervise production process methods and engineering activities that enable production. This includes sustaining engineering, new product launch processes and continuous improvement activities. The position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining production processes to drive quality and efficiency and to develop manufacturing plans which improve operations competitiveness.

Where is the work:
This position is onsite, based out of our McGregor, TX facility and is considered a safety sensitive role. 

 

What you will do: 

 

·         Support of existing parts and programs in production.

·         Troubleshoot and be point of contact for the run test between the plant and the corporate team

·         Evaluate and implement new technologies (ex. Automation, tooling, software) including testing and trials.

·         Assist in creating proposed changes to the existing systems in order to fulfill customer requirements

·         Assists in providing the department with support resources to maintain and document existing processes, programs, tooling, and standards to satisfy production requirements

·         Plan periodically for preventative maintenance activities and provide awareness of system performance and reliability

·         Work with culturally diverse teams to resolve issues and ensure proper integration with other related systems

·         Responsible for designing and implementing production processes that are flexible and capable of meeting takt rates at varying levels of demand.

·         Responsible for completing ergonomic assessments and implementing improvements to reduce overall ergonomic score

·         Provide support to the production operations in a servant fashion leading to improved engagement

·         Develop and initiate productivity projects

·         Development and implementation of Standard Work that will enable production areas to meet takt

·         Perform job safety analyses and incorporate into Standard Work

·         Conducts or participates in Process of continuous improvement

·         Assists in implementation of processes required to achieve elements of the facility Strategic Plan

·         Perform problem solving through use of following tools: 5 Why’s, A3’s, 9-step’s, etc.

·         Updates tooling drawings, machine programs and standard work as required.

 

What you will bring:

·         BS Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or other Manufacturing Technology discipline required

·         Understanding and knowledge of manufacturing processes, including data collection requirements, fabrication, cleaning, assembly, and testing

·         Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve application and database issues

·         Proven experience creating and developing application features to obtain business objectives.

·         Strong computer literacy in a Windows environment as well as machine specific control

·         Experience in use of AutoCAD and/or Pro-E preferred, with ability to read and interpret CAD and blue print drawings

·         Must be able to lead and drive lean transformation

·         Good planning and organizational management skills

·         Aptitude for mechanical/electrical application as related to equipment and processes

·         Problem assessment and problem-solving skills

·         Proven experience with handling multiple complex projects simultaneously

·         Ability to assign priorities in a fast paced and changing environment

·         Ability to utilize precision measuring and inspection tools.

·         Experience in database designing and modeling; experience with Oracle preferred

·         Experience in Microsoft’s Visual Studio; experience with Visual Basic preferred

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $70,000 - $95,000. Total Target Compensation: update based on role, location, commissions, etc.
