Manufacturing Designer

Job Summary:

Are you ready to take your design skills to the next level and make a tangible impact in the manufacturing world? As a Manufacturing Designer, you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge tooling and equipment in collaboration with our Continuous Improvement, Demand Flow Technology/ COS engineering team. In this role you will be responsible for owning and implementing innovative designs/ideas that revolutionize our manufacturing process.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Design Excellence- Create detailed models and tooling drawings using Creo Parametric that will enhance our existing operations. Your designs will encompass a variety of components, assemblies, work surfaces, conveyance carts, and packaging solutions. Drive Continuous Improvement-Play a vital role in improving our manufacturing line and its design libraries. Your insights and creativity will drive efficiency and innovation across our production processes. Collaborate - Work closely with cross-functional teams/engineers/technicians to bring ideas to life, ensuring that your designs not only meet but exceed operational needs. Manage, promote and release manufacturing data using Windchill PDMLink Follow all safety standards and policies and ensure a safe operating environment, including use of appropriate protective equipment and identification of potential safety concerns.

Education and/or Experience:

Associates degree from a college, university, or technical school; or one to two years of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of experience and education. CAD design experience. Creo experience is a plus. Experience with Continuous Improvement initiatives. Experience with GD&T / tolerancing Familiarity with standard machining processes Aptitude for mechanical systems design. Practical experience in construction. General knowledge, or experience, in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Demonstrated Proficiencies/Skills/Abilities:

Continuous Improvement : Ability to think outside of the box / offer innovative solutions to improve existing manufacturing processes / equipment. Production and Processing: Ability to accurately follow and document a sequence of manufacturing steps. Mechanical: General knowledge of common tools and their purpose. Design: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft office, specifically Excel. CAD experience. Creo a plus. Language: Ability to read, write and speak the English language. Quality: High attention to detail and accuracy. Teamwork: Ability to work productively in a team environment; positive attitude and team spirit. Approachable: Ability to work with technicians/team that will be impacted by your designs. Openness to any and all feedback. Professionalism: Tactfulness and respect in working with others regardless of their status or position or the urgency of situations; Acceptance of responsibility for own actions; Integrity in following through on commitments. Attendance/Punctuality: Punctuality in arrival times and observance of appropriate break and meal periods; acceptable attendance record and proper utilization of time clocks. Dependability: Responsiveness to management direction; Diligence in completing tasks on time or proposing an alternate plan; openness to additional hours when necessary.
