In the Manufacturing Electrical Engineering Co-op position, you will work with the Avionics Integrated Production Teams in the Cedar Rapids, IA facility. This position is for an Electrical Engineering student interested in learning engineering principles used in manufacturing. You will work side by side with our Manufacturing Electrical Engineers, Production floor technicians/operators, & Manufacturing support/engineering staff, to resolve test flow, product, and quality issues associated with state-of-the-art manufacturing testing techniques. What You Will Do:

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May - December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).Directly work with our manufacturing production floor employees including test technicians, operators, inspectors, and quality to solve day to day issue as well as proactively working longer term projects to eliminate reoccurring issues.Be involved in analyzing test failures for root causes and corrective actions, partnering with our onsite advanced & industry leading component evaluation lab. Assist in developing and preparing test and diagnostic programs to aid in the troubleshooting of test failures.Help our Electrical Engineers and Test Technicians in conducting studies pertaining to product and test systems issues.

What You Will Learn:

Working side by side with our Manufacturing Electrical Engineers (and other engineering functions), you will gain firsthand electrical engineering experiences and learn broad aspects of engineering in a manufacturing test environment. Gain the know how to troubleshoot and resolve a variety of manufacturing and manufacturing test issues including test systems, product issues, and piece part vendor quality issues.You will develop and strengthen your ability to both work independently and work with cross functional teams through various day to day task and projects.Learn critical time management and prioritization skills necessary to be effective in the engineering field.Learn about planning the sequence of operations for procedures, manufacturing documents, standard work, and product routings.

Qualifications You Must Have:

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contractRequires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
