As Manufacturing Engineer – Purchasing Controls you will be responsible to lead all aspects of the external supply chain manufacturing activities with accountability to ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met for the designated programs and components.  You will work in a cross functional team, with manufacturing emphasis, to achieve procurement objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

Provide manufacturing input to design engineering to assure component designs are produce-able & facilitate design for manufacture supplier eventsRepresent manufacturing perspective regarding component sourcing strategyWork with Procurement & Quality organization to stand up new suppliersDevelop & conduct supplier manufacturing readiness and technical risk assessmentsProvide support to supplier with respect to quality requirements (APQP, FAIR, PPAP; Drawing Alteration Requests, SABRe)Perform supplier hardware delivery source inspectionsCreate the environment for continuous improvement with the emphasis on sharing and searching for best practice

Basic Requirements:

Associates degree in Engineering, Technology or Business with 4+ years’ experience within Operations, Manufacturing, Quality or Purchasing, orBachelors Degree in Engineering, Technology or Business with 2+ years’ experience within Operations, Manufacturing, Quality or Purchasing, orMasters Degree or JD/PhD in Engineering, Technology or BusinessMust be a U.S. CitizenBe able to achieve Certified Rolls-Royce source inspector status

Preferred Requirements:

Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma Black BeltStrong understanding of SABRe, FAIR, PPAP requirementsExperience of operating within a global manufacturing environmentExperience with electronics and controls manufacturing as well as certification processesExperience in robust design methodologiesExperience in design of manufacturing tooling, gaging, and fixturesDemonstrated experience working with suppliers to delivering world class manufacturing performance
