Manufacturing Engineer 2 - Curry Pike Warehouse
Overview As a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in warehouse operations, you will focus on optimizing the flow of incoming materials, overseeing quality control processes, and ensuring the efficient order filling and distribution of goods. You will leverage engineering principles to streamline operations, minimize waste, improve quality, and increase overall productivity in the warehouse. Your role will involve continuous process improvement, data analysis, system implementation, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. Responsibilities - Work with Operations Managers and outside Vendors to create methods/machines to help with capacity.- Monitor trends in defects or discrepancies and suggest improvements in procurement or supplier quality.- Develop and maintain protocols for inspecting and testing incoming goods, utilizing measurement tools and testing equipment.- Analyze current layouts and processes to identify opportunities for optimization.- Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing waste, minimizing handling time, and improving overall productivity.- Use data-driven analysis and performance metrics (e.g., cycle time, error rates, throughput) to assess and enhance warehouse operations.- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards- Train all relevant personnel on new processes and equipment.- Assure projects follow requirements established by QSPs (Quality System Procedures).- Work with Quality Assurance and Product Development to verify/validate critical processes or products.- Work with management to establish project timeliness and business impact.- Act as resource for operational departments for materials, equipment and process upgrades.- Must maintain all training requirements for the position, while seeking out opportunities for continuous development and growth.- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation consistent with the requirements of pertinent regulations and Cook’s Quality Management System where applicable. - Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization.- Must strictly adhere to safety requirements.- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.- Must maintain company quality and quantity standards.- Must have effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative and independent work situations and environments withminimal supervision.- Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Distribution/Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.- Relevant certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, PMP) are a plus.- 2+ years of relevant experience preferred- Proficiency in warehouse management software (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint), preferred Physical Requirements: - Works under general office environmental conditions.- Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working withcomputers, equipment, etc.- Frequently required to stand, walk, and communicate.- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. - Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA. **Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.
