How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. designing, implementing, and optimizing industrial processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. This role involves analyzing current processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing solutions to enhance manufacturing operations. The Manufacturing Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and maintenance, to ensure that processes are running smoothly and meet safety and regulatory standards.

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

Contribute to achieving and maintaining plant KPI’s Maintain action lists to resolve open issues Coordinates with the production team on the implementation of new processes and equipment Involved in capacity planning, process capability, and continuous improvement projects Creating and updating process documentation Design new punch/press tooling Participate in capital equipment purchases Work with quality to resolve non-conformances and design/implement solutions Apply lean methodologies to enhance process layouts, and material flow and reduce waste Maintain safe working practices and compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act Work with maintenance and production personnel to troubleshoot machine/process breakdowns Identify new technologies to improve current processes Design poke-yokes and error-proof key steps in the build process

 

 

 

What we are looking for (Required/Ideal Experience, Skills, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience & Skills

At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a lean manufacturing environment, leading teams in a lean transformation and continuous improvement efforts. Computer Skills: MS Office, AutoCAD and SolidWorks Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills Ability to learn and adapt

Education & Certifications 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent

Travel & Working Environment

Onsite Manufacturing plant environment
