Manufacturing Engineer
Purpose of the position Constantly keep an eye to the future of the organization, identify, and eliminate short and long– term problems that may occur. Interface with & coordinate related activities of other departments as required to support production needs Definition and improvement of standard work in the value stream Owner of ERP Master Data, BOMs & standard times Sustain and develop technical aspects in the value stream, drive productivity and continuous improvement activities Design, develop and implement tooling for the value stream

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

Safety

Following company safety regulations and rules, promoting company safety culture Implementing safety improvements with safety coordinator Assist with all lost time incidents and reporting, including root cause analysis and corrective actions

Quality

Maintain ERP system BOMs - routing and standard times  Define standard work and standard operating procedures, support team to create and update new SOPs Implement quality-related improvements in production 

Delivery

Work with value stream manager/leader to develop the support structure including information flow, systems and process reviews. Introduction of NPIs process, provide input on DFM/DFA, SOPs, ERP routing and standard times in conjunction with R&D and the NPI team Manage continuous improvement efforts for quick change over, standardized work, workplace organization for optimum value stream layout Participate alongside the warehouse manager so as to achieve optimum material flow  Visual management from concept to implementation. Write procedures necessary to support cargo-manufacturing systems Coordinate implementation of engineering  changes and use of the value stream map so as to aid productivity  Ownership of line balancing so as to smooth the labor loading Responsible for cell design an line layout in the line with te VSM and VSLs Provide training on the new methods to the value stream team

Productivity

Lean Kaizen event within the value stream as required, to include value stream mapping, line balancing Lead the training and implementation of Lean manufacturing tools and concepts including 6S, Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance, etc. Bring creative lean manufacturing solutions to the value stream Project manager for technical improvements projects What you’ll need to succeed Degree /BSc in Engineering related discipline Advanced English Strong experience from mechanical industry and assembly operations Systems (ERP) knowledge Working knowledge LEAN principles (such as Six Sigma) Project management Knowledge and awareness of modern manufacturing methods and tools Strong technical understanding of manufactured products and its functionality Collaborative solution driven approach Engineering drawing tools (Computer Literacy, particularly in Google suite, experience in Microsoft Visio and Autocad / Solidworks /Pro-E (Creo) You will be part of
