The Production/Manufacturing Engineer develops and optimizes continuous production and manufacturing processes to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of the organization. The Engineer will troubleshoot process issues, collect data and apply scientific standards and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes. This position will test and monitor equipment, update current system processes, and conduct risk assessments.
Collaborates with key site and corporate personnel to value and prioritize identified opportunities and outline execution strategies accordingly.Gathers and analyzes key performance data on process, product, and equipment to identify strategic improvements that create value.Supports value creation efforts by analyzing manufacturing process performance and developing key metrics to promote process improvement in safety, environmental, production, quality, value, and yield performance. Provides production/manufacturing engineering oversight for the entire manufacturing process, from raw materials to final product.Effectively works with Operations, Quality and Reliability to improve quality, increase production/yield, and eliminate waste and lead or participate on teams in the execution of improvement projects to accomplish these goals.Assists with daily plant optimization of production and efficiencies through monitoring and analysis of operating parameters, troubleshooting plant problems, and identifying energy-saving opportunities.Maintains key performance indicators and models to assess and optimize process unit health. Assists with compliance activities such as Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analyses and the required documentation of Process Safety Information (PSI).Supports the automation and programming team with control narrative modifications.Creates, updates, and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes.Other duties as assigned. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high places, airborne particles, chemicals, and temperature ranges.
