Job Summary:
Plans and designs manufacturing processes within the industrial plant.
Increases day-to-day production and process efficiency by analyzing the shop layout, capability of equipment, tooling/fixturing, process flow, and assembly methods – resulting in increased quality, increased productivity, and reduced product cost.
Determines and documents processes, equipment, and fixturing needed to achieve production readiness (NPI) and sustain manufacturing operations in accordance with all specifications and engineering requirements.
Completes day-to-day tasks including medium to large-scale projects as assigned – creativity and strong analytical problem-solving skills are required.
Keeps detailed records in an organized fashion and practices excellent organizational skills to support the job function.
Ability to clearly write, edit, review, and provide comments for technical documentation, assembly instructions, and process documents.
Familiar with a wide variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within the aerospace manufacturing industry.
Experienced with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and drawing requirements. Knowledgeable with ASME Y14.5 standards.
Possesses solid working-knowledge of the subject matter for duct manufacturing.
Works effectively in both individual and team environments to discover and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Conforms to company safety policies and procedures.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1+ year of experience in sheet metal processes (e.g., forming, cutting, drilling, riveting, assembly).
1+ year of experience with fusion welding (GTAW / TIG) process and has a basic understanding of weld quality.
2+ years of experienced with measurement techniques and equipment, including attribute gaging (pin, plug, go/no-go, fixture) and variable gaging (dial caliper, height gage, micrometer, comparator).
3+ years of experience with interrogating 3D models using Solidworks (preferred) or other 3D CAD software to peer-review tool designs or models.
3+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint).
2+ years of experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software systems – RSA uses Epicor.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with resistance welding (Spot or Seam) processes (e.g., AWS D17.2).
Experience with fluorescent penetrant (e.g., ASTM E1417) and/or radiographic (e.g., ASTM E1742) processes.
Experience with programming (Excel VBA, SQL) and/or Excel Pivot Tables to compile and construct data to support Continuous Improvement and CAPEX projects.
Minimum Education & Experience:
An engineering degree (BS or MS) in manufacturing, aerospace, mechanical or industrial engineering, or a degree (AS, BS or MS) in engineering / physical science plus a minimum of 8 years of aerospace manufacturing experience.
Minimum 4 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, or minimum 2 years of direct manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace duct manufacturing.
Certifications:
Must be able to obtain an internal RSA Manufacturing Engineering (ME) stamp within (6) months.
Must be able to successfully complete the RSA internal Weld Inspector Specialist training course within (9) months.

Employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time, occasionally required to walk, climb
stairs, stoop, use hands to finger (keyboard), stand for extended periods of time on a shop floor,
talk and hear. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

The pay scale for this position ranges from $70,000 to $120,000 annually.
