Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description
The Manufacturing Engineer will support bringing the designed product into production. They are part of the team that acts as the 'glue/handyman' of the company, bringing designs from multiple departments to life.
Responsibilities
+ Take product designs from multiple teams and transition them into manufacturing.
+ Create and define the production process for the manufacturing of the electronics product.
+ Create tooling, jigs, and fixtures necessary for product manufacturing and assembly.
+ Develop processes, work instructions, and assembly fixtures.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with manufacturing processes, process development, and electronics manufacturing.
+ BSME or BSEE preferred, equivalent hands-on experience, and some vocational or community college education will be considered.
+ 1-5 years of experience (open to fresh graduates with prior experience in shops or relevant internships).
+ Ability to understand and read prints and schematics.
+ Understanding and experience with electronics manufacturing tools such as soldering, assembly tools, fixtures, and testing.
+ Experience and comfort in building products and being hands-on in a manufacturing environment, including tasks such as cutting and soldering wires and using a hacksaw.
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks for designing and creating tooling, production aids, test fixtures, and handling CAD bookkeeping to ensure BOMs are aligned with production needs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Direct electronics building experience.
+ Knowledge of cabling and testing.
+ Experience with SW/HW integration/interface and testing.
+ Simple PCB design skills to potentially support other areas of the business, if needed.
Work Environment
This role is based on-site in Bingen, WA (across the river from Hood River, OR). The work environment includes a manufacturing floor within an office building.
