Manufacturing Engineer

Our Corporate Operations group is excited to add an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to the team! The Manufacturing Engineer will develop efficient manufacturing processes, shop layout, tooling, and process workflows meeting schedule requirements. This position will work with the production leadership to develop bill of material and routings. The Manufacturing Engineer will also implement Lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement initiatives. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Create the initial layout and detail development of assembly processes for a wide range of products. Analyze production to become efficient and effective in labor, tooling, materials and overhead through continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, and other techniques where appropriate. Develop new manufacturing processes using best available/advance technology theory and practices. Validate the processes.Plan, organize, and implement systems and procedures for aiding manufacturing.Identify product assembly issues and work to resolve issues and improve product manufacturing.Team with the Engineers and/or Designers to ensure that all aspects of new product introduction and changes to existing products are properly communicated to production personnel.Interface with various departments in defining and providing solutions to detected manufacturing processes causing quality problems.Provide guidance in the development of bill of materials and routings.  Develop as needed.Make suggestions and recommendations on capital equipment improvements.Plan, coordinate, and perform manufacturing engineering activities for current and new products and continuous improvement programs. Lead capacity planning and productivity improvement activities. Lead implementation of new assembly processes and technologies.

Here's What You'll Need:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering along with seven (7) years of experience in electrical manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience Industrial engineering experience in assembly of mining and/or heavy equipment related to electrical components is preferred. Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement program leadership with documented successful continuous improvement initiatives implemented in a similar manufacturing environment Green Belt Six Sigma is a plus. Knowledge of large electrical assembly in a low to medium volume facility Technical understanding and grasp of product flow, tooling, and equipment capabilities Knowledge of production planning software tools Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent thinking and troubleshooting skills Strong organizational skills Strong attention to detail Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask while coordinating multiple high level priorities Strong knowledge of personal computers including Microsoft Office software.Overnight travel may be required.
