Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for optimizing production processes, improving efficiencies, and reducing costs within the cheese converting facility. This role will involve analyzing existing processes, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance overall production.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Process Improvement:
+ Conduct time and motion studies to identify inefficiencies.
+ Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
+ Develop and implement process improvement strategies, such as lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
+ Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
+ Capacity Planning:
+ Forecast future production needs and capacity requirements.
+ Develop capacity plans to meet demand and optimize resource utilization.
+ Identify opportunities to increase production capacity without significant capital investment.
+ Layout and Design:
+ Design and optimize plant layouts to improve workflow and reduce waste.
+ Conduct ergonomic assessments to ensure employee safety and comfort.
+ Design and implement new production lines or equipment installations.
+ Cost Reduction:
+ Identify cost-saving opportunities through process optimization and waste reduction.
+ Analyze material usage and implement strategies to reduce waste and minimize costs.
+ Negotiate with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing and delivery terms.
+ Project Management:
+ Manage engineering projects, including project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
+ Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
+ Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to meet deadlines and budgets.
Qualifications
Required qualifications, skills, and experience for the job; education background, certifications, relevant work experience, technical skills, and soft skills.
+ Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
+ 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
+ Experience with process improvement tools, such as value stream mapping and root cause analysis.
+ Strong project management and organizational skills.
+ Proficiency in CAD software and data analysis tools.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to travel up to 50% between the other Emmi Roth locations with Stoughton being the HUB (Monroe, Platteville, & Seymour)
