Manufacturing Engineer
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.  We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer at our GA-ASI Research and Development facility in the High Desert.

As part of the Manufacturing Engineering Team, the primary responsibility of this position is to provide comprehensive manufacturing support for various programs.  More specifically, this role involves working in a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement, and see through to completion, effective tooling and manufacturing approaches to execute program objectives on new and/or existing projects ranging from one-off parts, to composite pod structures, to complete aircraft builds.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, this role involves linking program expectations with manufacturing execution.  This includes taking ownership of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input, part/assembly and tooling estimates, tooling acquisition, coordinating part manufacturing with the respective work centers, investigating and solving manufacturing issues, and continuous improvement opportunities. 


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for providing Manufacturing Engineering support to GA-ASI programs/projects such as one-off part builds, pod composite assemblies and complete aircraft buildsPrimarily function as a program/project-centered Manufacturing EngineerDevise and implement manufacturing and tooling solutions for new and/or existing projectsRegularly interface with multi-disciplinary teams to execute project objectivesProvide proactive manufacturing solutions through tool design and part design/CAD reviewProvide tooling and part estimates for a wide range of manufacturing effortsLead effort for acquiring and implementing tooling for respective projectsOversee and provide direct on-the-floor support for part manufacturing and composite assemblyCoordinate metrology of parts, assemblies, and toolingDesign and incorporate shop aids to facilitate manufacturingAuthor and incorporate manufacturing work instructionsLead and/or participate in continuous improvement activitiesMay support new process development activitiesMaintains strict confidentiality of sensitive informationResponsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the CompanyExpected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.
