Description

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to support commercial manufacturing for equipment design, procurement, efficiency, and performance. This role is expected to independently design and modify processes to improve output in terms of safety, quality, efficiency, capacity, and environmental impact.  This includes working with the OEM to increase automation and develop preventive maintenance requirements. Work with site leadership to develop a long range capacity plan supports demand.  

Primary Duties:

Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment Create a long range capacity plan that includes demand and investment Deliver projects on time and on budget Monitor the operator ergonomic interactions to prevent repetitive motion injuries Maintain knowledge of new and emerging technologies that may improve the manufacturing processes Carry out continuous process improvements and optimization of current commercial processes Lead the development, implementation, and support of manufacturing automation with collaboration from stakeholders and impacted departments Execute process optimization ventures including small scale studies prior to implementation Create and complete capital equipment projects, change controls, validation protocols, etc. Utilize Lean Six Sigma or related tools to develop advanced, cost-effective solutions and lead successful implementation to deliver improved product quality Undertake equipment and process qualifications for new and existing equipment Responsible for Creating User requirements that will deliver equipment to meet demand Create standard operating procedures (SOP), work instructions, and maintenance procedures and provide training and guidance to others 

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering 

Experience: 

3 or more years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment required.Experience in capital equipment projects, automation, and/or equipment maintenance strongly preferred 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to work with a team, identify and implement feasible solutions to challenges, and independently manage equipment suppliers requiredSolidWorks fluency preferredStrong technical aptitude with the ability to apply engineering principles to solve complex problemsKnowledge of production flow improvements and optimization Excellent computer, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required. Must be results oriented, and self-motivated Lean six sigma knowledge a plus
