Your success is what's next with Custom Truck One Source. **Summary** The Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role at the intersection of product design and production efficiency. This position focuses on developing innovative solutions to optimize manufacturing processes, improve product quality, and enhance overall operational performance. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing and refining parts or systems to improve assembly efficiency, ensure product reliability, and reduce warranty claims. Additionally, this role involves analyzing current production workflows to identify opportunities for process improvement, eliminating waste, and driving lean manufacturing principles to achieve higher quality and productivity. The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex challenges, is detail-oriented, and demonstrates a passion for continuous improvement in a dynamic production environment. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** + Streamline production processes to enhance efficiency and quality. + Create detailed work instructions for manufacturing tasks. + Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs). + Communicate bill of materials (BOM) updates effectively. + Address and resolve design and production issues. + Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and implement solutions. + Design and test parts to improve assembly processes. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production goals. + Identify and eliminate waste using lean manufacturing principles. + Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. **Required Skills and Qualifications** _Qualifications include:_ + Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a similar degree. + 1-5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing environment or, + 1-5+ years of engineering experience in automotive design related field or, + 1-5+ years of engineering experience in vocational truck assembly. + Proficient in engineering design software – 3D and 2D (Solidworks, OnShape, and AutoCAD preferred). + Proficient in Microsoft Office. + Ability to read and comprehend part drawings and wiring or hydraulic schematics. + Ability to read and interpret documents; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must also possess the ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization. **Preferred Skills and Qualifications** + Ability to identify complex build challenges and implement solutions quickly and correctly. + A good understanding of welding. + Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. **Working Conditions** + This job will be performed in an office setting. + Operation and review of construction equipment may be occasionally required.
