Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading the process and projects related to equipment by leveraging a strong technical and analytical background. This person will manage multiple large projects with aggressive deadlines in order to successfully support the business. Need to be prideful in executing thoughtful strategies to meet business demands while planning for future growth. Enjoys work days that have an even balance of hard work on the floor getting your hands dirty and analyzing data to make operations run more efficiently.
Responsibilities:Thorough understanding of safety processes as they apply to manufacturing
Lead department layouts and process flows to optimize site performance
Establish and maintain business standards such as Robot Program and Fixture Change Management
Implement best practices for material handling and storage
Lead engineering support to Operation by improving safety, quality, and efficiency
Installation of large equipment packages, conducting successful and detail-oriented runoffs
Works cross-functionally to identify problems and recommend solutions
Improve processes to increase throughput and reduce change over times
Manages multiple and shifting priorities in a fast paced environment
Create solutions to reduce WIP
Able to distill large volumes of data into actionable business strategies
Supports leading business strategy and identifying key projects for the group
Proven track record of implementing and monitoring manufacturing strategy (TPS/Lean/5S/Continuous Improvement)
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Welding, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Material Science Engineering or related field is required
Advanced Engineering Degree or MBA is a plus
2+ years of world class manufacturing experience in a high volume metal fabrication environment is required
2+ years as a manufacturing process owner is required
Experience as a Laser cutting or Machining process owner is a plus
Experience with department and equipment layouts to optimize production
Demonstrated ability to create value by thorough understanding of process interdependencies
Experience with purchasing capital equipment and supporting production start-up is required
Experience with automation of manufacturing processes
Experience with Engineering Change Management
Must have lean training and the ability to utilize lean tools in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of quality systems and process controls
Data driven and analytical. Finding solutions by understanding data and being detail oriented
Must have a ‘hands on’ mentality and the ability to work well with production team members
