As a Manufacturing Engineer in Advanced Integrated Systems, you will lead the development and optimization of manufacturing processes to enhance factory performance in terms of cost, quality, and customer service. You will be responsible for innovating and improving manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, material flow, plant layout, and product design. Your expertise will drive key projects, and you will play a significant role in optimizing production operations.
In addition to your technical leadership, you will mentor and train engineers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization. As a subject matter expert in press brakes, panel benders, and automation, you will lead initiatives to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ **Leadership & Mentorship:** Provide expert guidance, mentoring, and training for team members in advanced metal forming processes, particularly press brakes and panel benders. Foster knowledge sharing and continuous improvement in manufacturing practices.
+ **Process Optimization:** Drive improvements in manufacturing processes, including material flow, plant layout, equipment efficiency, and tooling. Lead the introduction and refinement of new technologies to enhance manufacturability and productivity.
+ **Strategic Capital Projects:** Plan, specify, and justify long-term capital investments, including high-level projects presented to the Board of Directors. Oversee multi-year initiatives that improve manufacturing capabilities.
+ **Cross-Department Collaboration:** Work closely with engineering, production, sales, and other departments to ensure manufacturing processes align with business objectives, optimizing product development and operational performance.
+ **Lean Manufacturing & Safety Initiatives:** Lead or support Lean initiatives and safety protocols to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Achieve Lean Leader and Lean Champion certification.
+ **Problem-Solving & Technical Expertise:** Provide expert technical support to resolve complex manufacturing challenges. Utilize data analysis to influence key decisions related to budgeting, staffing, and capacity planning.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ **Experience:** 10+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on metal forming processes (press brakes, panel benders) and automation. Robotics experience is highly desirable.
+ **Education:** A Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).
+ **Technical Expertise:** Strong experience in plant layout design, automation integration, and advanced manufacturing processes. Proficiency with SAP is preferred.
+ **Lean Manufacturing:** Demonstrated expertise in Lean principles and continuous improvement strategies.
+ **Leadership Skills:** Proven track record in leading teams, mentoring engineers, and driving cross-functional projects.
+ **Project Management:** Ability to plan, execute, and oversee large-scale strategic projects with an emphasis on long-term manufacturing goals.
**Desired Skills:**
+ **Automation & Robotics:** Experience with robotic systems and their integration into manufacturing lines.
+ **Process Improvement:** Strong ability to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions that drive cost savings and improved quality.
+ **Collaboration:** Ability to work effectively across functions to integrate sales, engineering, and operations.
