Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for ensuring maximum cost effectiveness and reliability of manufacturing processes and workflow. This role involves determining the methods and sequences of manufacturing operations for moderately complex products, machine parts, and assemblies, ensuring that products and processes meet customer quality requirements. The engineer will provide producibility input and manufacturing plans for product design or modification, managing work related to machining brass raw stock into fitting components. This is a 6-month contract to help ramp up and get caught up on some projects, specifically supporting the machining area of the business.

ResponsibilitiesEvaluate moderately complex manufacturing processes by conducting process analysis, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, and conferring with suppliers and production technicians.Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment, and consulting with equipment suppliers.Prepare written and graphical work instructions to communicate manufacturing requirements to production personnel.Refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.May be assigned to special projects for a variety of products and processes.Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.Assure process control and reliability for assigned areas.Coordinate input and recommendations, implementing changes that may cross multiple teams or areas.Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished products and process capabilities, and establishing standards to confirm and validate manufacturing process requirements.Determine root cause of failures using statistical methods such as design of experiment and statistical process control, potentially resulting in changes in design, tolerances, or processing methods.Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor standards, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements.May serve as a liaison to the supplier base.Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, presenting findings to the team, suppliers, or customers.May maintain product and process databases by writing computer programs, travelers, operation sheets, and entering data.Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, ensuring adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Engineering (or an Associate's Degree in Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience).3+ years of experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer in a machining environment.Experience creating and modifying G-Code for CNCs.Proficient in SolidWorks or AutoCAD for interpreting drawings and creating machine programs.Understanding of quality systems, metal cutting, metal forming, metal casting, plastic molding, finishing, and assembly processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of quality systems and quality equipment for dimensional measurement, including Statistical Process Control and Coordinate Measuring Equipment.Work Environment

The Manufacturing Engineer will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will work on a team with other Manufacturing Engineers. This is a first-shift position with core work hours from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The role involves working cross-functionally with quality, design engineers, and test engineers. The employee will work in a highly automated manufacturing environment with exposure to a variety of equipment and product lines, and there is an opportunity for the contract to extend or become permanent if the candidate is a great fit. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $45.68/hr.
