Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the technical process support of our bearings operations, working in a lean manufacturing environment.  The manufacturing engineer collaborates cross-functionally to maintain and improve our manufacturing/machining processes and manages various projects working directly with site and functional leadership.  This position collaborates with management in selecting and prioritizing projects. The incumbent will coach, mentor, and develop site/functional team members through training, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement activities to effectively utilize performance excellence tools, methodologies, and philosophies to drive performance excellence.  Additionally, the position will work with the Procurement/Supply Chain department to determine the best cost solutions for Regal Rexnord. The manufacturing engineer will have direct and continuous interactions with Operations, Procurement, Sales & Marketing, and remote engineering resources.

Major Responsibilities:

Lead, support, and implement process improvements utilizing lean concepts. i.e. 6s, defect reduction, effective daily management, process improvement techniques.Exemplify the culture of continuous improvement and simplification across the organization.Develop as a site/functional team member through training, Kaizens, and RBS tools to effectively utilize performance tools, methodologies, and philosophies to drive performance excellence.Work with site or functional leadership to develop current and future Value Streams, standard work, and sustained stability to achieve operating goals.Reduce scrap and non-conformances by eliminating waste and variation in all forms.Drives root cause corrective actions to reduce non-conformances.Assist operators in resolving set-up, tooling, and fixture problems, special processes (heat treatment, plating, and welding), and selection of proper tooling and grinding wheels.Develop, maintain, and implement process routings and set-up instructions for the production of parts and assemblies.Perform other assignments as assigned.

Required Education / Experience / Skills:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field, Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial or Materials.Experience: 0 to 2 years of engineering experience (Intern and/or co-op) in a manufacturing environment.Skills: “This position is subject to policies and procedures set forth by the State Department and applicants who do not meet such requirements will not be eligible for the position”.Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills with all levels of employees and management preferred.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while adjusting to changing priorities and project lists preferred.Team orientated with the ability to influence others without authority preferred.Preferred but not requiredCNC Programming knowledgeCAD and drafting knowledgeSix Sigma Green or Black Belt a plusTravel:  less than 10%.
