At Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., we are seeking a highly motivated Engineer II to join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Asheville. As an Engineer II, have the opportunity to demonstrate your dedication and drive working on assembly operations for Lab Equipment used around the globe. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing support for special processes and assembly operations. You will have the chance to interact with a diverse range of colleagues, including hourly line workers, team leads, shift supervisors, quality engineers, R&D, maintenance, and site leadership. This collaborative environment will allow you to contribute to the execution of manufacturing processes and the successful implementation of new product and process development.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure product conformance, quality, and cost effectiveness.Resolve production issues and partner with various teams to keep production running smoothly.Identify gaps and develop corrective and preventive actions to improve overall efficiency.Implement continuous improvement projects, applying Lean methodologies and PPI tools.Provide technical assistance and expertise to manufacturing, implementing corrective actions as needed.Establish and maintain manufacturing specifications and documentation.Support the implementation of new products and contribute to the development of existing products.

Requirements/Qualifications:2-4 years of manufacturing experience in an ISO quality environment preferredA Bachelor's degree in engineering, with a focus on Mechanical, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering, is preferred. Equivalent experience in the field will also be considered.Experience in fostering continuous improvement and driving lean processes.Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop action plans for efficient production.Proficiency in process auditing and Lean manufacturing techniques.Excellent prioritization, time management, and organizational skills.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
