Essential Job Responsibilities

Works with project teams to understand product requirements and educates the team on the impact manufacturing has on meeting requirements  Iteratively collaborates with design teams to implement principles of Design for Manufacturing (DFM)  Participates in risk management activities such the generation of DFMEA and PFMEA documents  Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs such as DOEs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.  Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.  Works collaboratively with quality to generate and execute IQ/OQ/PQ process protocols.   Prepares IQ/OQ/PQ reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.  Assures product and process quality by designing and validating in-process testing methods  Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.  Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.  Presents manufacturing summaries in project review meetings.   Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.  Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs.

 

Required Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or technical discipline   Minimum of five (5) or more years of engineering work or internship experience.  Minimum of five (5) or more years of direct experience using CAD (Computer Aided Design) software

 

Preferred Job Qualifications

Familiar with requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and USP Class VI   Experience operating within a cleanroom environment (ISO Class 7 / Class 10,000).   Knowledge of injection molding manufacturing process  Experience with sonic, spin, and heat stake welding of injection molded components  History of performing multi-factor process validations  Proficient with Pro-E/CREO  Competent in ERP system operations (Oracle preferred)   Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Concepts (PDCA, DMAIC, RCA, kanban, poka yoke, 5S, standard work)  Experience using Minitab statistical analysis software

Physical Demands:

Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, sitting is regularly required; use of hands and fingers, and talk or hear. Reaching is frequently required with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and/or stoop.

 

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
