We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Engineering Manufacturing Intern to join our dynamic team. As an Engineering Manufacturing Intern, you will play a key role in enhancing our bus body fabrication and assembly processes. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse projects related to process optimization, tooling implementation, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies in manufacturing.

 

About the Intern Program

 

12 week program with start dates on: May 12 or 19 or June 2
40 hours per week
Must graduate between December 2025 - May 2027

Responsibilities

As an Engineering Manufacturing Intern, you will be involved in transformative projects aimed at optimizing bus body fabrication and assembly processes. Projects have the possibility of focusing on the following key areas:

 

AI-Assisted Work Instructions:

Utilize AI tools to enhance the quality and consistency of the existing 30K work instructions used by a workforce of 1000 individuals.Work towards creating advanced, feature-based, and paperless work instructions for improved clarity and efficiency.

Error-Proofing Initiatives:

Tackle error-proofing projects related to feature code-based manufacturing processes.Example Project: Implement a system where, based on feature codes, the intern would oversee the process of drilling visor holes in precise locations. This involves selecting equipment, ensuring proper installation, and collaborating with software teams to link feature codes to CNC machines.Manage projects from conception ("cradle to grave") to guarantee accurate execution of tasks, preventing errors in the manufacturing process.

Technology Integration:

Explore the integration of cutting-edge technologies such as AI and RFID in the creation of plant floor documentation.Enhance the overall efficiency and accuracy of manufacturing operations by leveraging innovative solutions.

By participating in these projects, you will gain hands-on experience in the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies, process optimization, and the application of artificial intelligence to improve work instructions. These initiatives aim to elevate the quality, precision, and reliability of bus body fabrication and assembly, contributing to overall excellence in manufacturing practices.

Minimum Requirements Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
