Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. This position is for a front line support Manufacturing Engineer who will be addressing non-conformance issues and providing in person support to ensure the production line continues to move smoothly
Key job responsibilities
- Write work instructions, troubleshoot non-conformances and help execute critical satellite assembly build and test campaigns, including hands-on work.
- Definition & implementation of Work Order and standard operating procedures
- Assist with developing manufacturing processes for automated quality SPC.
- Specify, design and help procure various assembly equipment, tools and systems to meet program development requirements
- AIT takt time & cost optimization planning
- Review designs for manufacturability and sign off for design release
- Must be willing to work off shifts and weekends as required.

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
A day in the life
A Manufacturing Engineer in this role will be supporting the technician team by resolving any obstacles and working with responsible engineers to disposition non-conformances. This individual will work closely with engineering teams in specifying and building or procuring tools and line equipment for Kuiper hardware builds. The successful candidate has some basic experience in supporting production of space hardware through development, QTP (qualification test procedures), and flight hardware ATP (acceptance test procedures).
