BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Manufacturing Engineer - SMT/CBA at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.
Key responsibilities
Develop and implement manufacturing process technologies, methods, and techniques to assist and promote the building of reliable, high quality Electronics assemblies at the lowest possible cost.Develop and maintain product assembly procedures for SMT and CBASupport SMT and THT Manufacturing operations and NPI (New project introduction) by programming equipment’s, maintaining (including required semi-annual / annual PM’s). Improving performance and Yield of equipment and processes.Know-how of solder paste print, SMT placement, solder reflow ovens, SPI (Solder Paste Inspection), AOI (Automated Optical Inspection), CBA Wave and selective soldering, conveyors and handlersSupport to new product development teams regarding manufacturing capabilities, techniques and issues related to design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA).Responsible for identifying, specifying, validating, documenting, implementing, and training on new equipment and process.Wave/Selective Soldering design and support production fixtures to aid in the assembly of product while improving operator safety/comfort, reducing labor cost and improving quality.Assist in the preparation of new product tooling cost estimatesMaintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, changeovers, and costs.Work in team environment with Quality and Manufacturing Engineers on current production. Support on product and manufacturing issues and respond to internal and external customer requests for changes, improvements and future customer programsWork with Customers and Management to implement changes and address problemsTravel to suppliers to monitor development activitiesComply with safety, quality, productivity, hygiene and environmental prevention standardsComply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, Practice and ScheduleRespect workplace safety and cleanliness rulesRespect and comply with environmental policy rulesPerform other tasks not included in the activity for which he was hired, when the needs or convenience of the service justify it, for the period necessary for the said needs or conveniences of serviceEducation & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Engineering: Electrical Engineering preferred, Mechanical, Mechatronics, AutomationMinimum 2 years of Engineering experience made up of multi-year experience with SMT/CBAExcellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the OrganizationManufacturing Engineering Production Support experienceMulti-site or multi-customer experience highly preferred.Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools, a plus.Strong organizational, time management, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both verbal and written.Analytical, technical, and statistical skills Good problem solving capabilitiesExcellent communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the OrganizationResults orientedFluent in EnglishFluent in PortugueseAvailability for international Business travelsEEO Statement
