MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - STAMPING Job Responsibilities 1. Responsible for Die Design and Development and Processes to support new product development 2. Provide technical advice to product design through stamping engineering evaluation. Conduct evaluations for DFM 3. Work with process development engineer to completed new tooling conditioning and mass production 4. Prepare the WI and PFMEA for new product, and discuss with QE (Quality Engineers) and Production to fix the WI and PFMEA 5. Update the WI and PFMEA according to the request of customer audit or quality improvement or EC etc. 6. WI training to operation in order to standardize the machine operation or process 7. Responsible for manufacturing process improvement, production efficiency and quality improvement 8. Modify the tooling according to the request of customer or quality improvement or EC or efficiency improvement etc 9. Complete and publish the revised tooling drawing in order to meet EC and improvement request 10. Cooperate with QE and Production to revise related documents (WI & PFMEA etc.) for customer audit 11. Cooperate with QE and Production to find the root cause and correct action for customer complaint in order to satisfy the customer 12. Study or introduce new technologies into process designs to improve yield and efficiency 13. Design, EC, and fabrication of single ang progressive dies 14. Repair and maintenance of dies 15. Trial, adjustment, and evaluation of dies 16. Operate machining and press machines 17. DFM, EC, Quality meeting with customers 18. Design and fabrication of jigs 19. Process improvement 20. Checking of new part documents 21. Supervise operators, designers, technicians and engineers 22. Use AutoCAD and SolidWorks/Creo 23. Prepare/check die quotation Qualifications: 1. Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering 2. 5 years engineering design related working experience 3. Be familiar with design tools such as Creo, AutoCAD, Progressive dies 4. Know quality five tools like FMEA, SPC, APQP **Personal Attributes & Competencies** 1. Good communication skills with a cross functional team 2. Ability to effectively communicate in English – Written and Spoken **Job Overview** TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding or assembly related topics, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output. They are experts in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, possessing extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes which may include the optimization and standardization of stamping / molding / assembly or other processes within the manufacturing environment. Manufacturing Engineering Teams enable the TE business unit plants to reach TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE), Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP’s) and advise plants on tool and machine duplications / corrections / improvements. They design and develop manufacturing process and automation platforms and apply them for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production. The Teams also support Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable manufacturing concepts relative to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location.
