Navico Group is a division of Brunswick, which designs and manufactures a broad product portfolio of electrical components and power management systems for the marine, recreational vehicle, emergency vehicle, specialty vehicle, and industrial markets. Navico Group Connect out of Menomonee Falls, WI is the integration wing of Navico Group. We are an OEM that designs and assembles Navico Group and external components into a total kit to be sold to other manufactures as a turnkey solution.

What are we seeking?

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op or Intern to support the new product development and sustaining efforts of the Navico Group Connect team. Activities will include creating and maintaining documentation along with supporting production efforts for the Navico Group Connect production team. This position is based out of Menomonee Falls, WI.

Summary of Position:

This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Lead of the Engineering team. The main responsibility will be to create and maintain documentation that enables the efficient and accurate manufacture of mobile (12V) electro-mechanical control systems. Documentation will include work instructions and end user documentation. The candidate will require excellent writing skills, ability to create standardized documentation around light assembly work, troubleshooting skills, organized thinking, record keeping, and basic electrical knowledge. Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical and Electrical engineers are encouraged to apply.

Time commitment:

The internship position will be for summer months only. The co-op position will be a combination of a summer internship plus a single semester, trimester, or two quarters.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Create and refine work instructions for production floorProvide production support on a daily basisParticipate/lead in design and pilot buildsAssist/lead in continuous improvement opportunitiesPropose, specify, and design tooling/fixturing to facilitate manufacturing

Internship project opportunities:

Troubleshoot production related issues across multiple assembly lines and end of line testingLead manufacturing efforts during new product development cyclesAssist in implementation of visual work instruction platformLead, research and implement continuous improvement initiatives

Basic Qualifications:

Working towards Bachelor of Applied Science (BSIE, BSME, BSEE) or equivalentAble to work independently and within groupsAble to synthesize a solution when design inputs are vague or incompleteComfortable in multi-tasking situationsComfortable with priority shiftsSelfless, can-do attitude, willing to learn

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the manufacturing industryExperience with creation of work instructionsFamiliarity with marine and/or RV products in professional or recreational environmentFamiliarity with ABYC requirementsExperience with new product development cyclesShop/bench fabrication and/or assembly skills
