Our interns receive hands-on experience, training and the opportunity to work on a project in their specific area of study. The Manufacturing Engineering internship will be focused on leading process improvement projects within Powell’s Switchgear Assembly Operations team including a “Hands On” project establishing a productivity program, setting up Just in Time material delivery, Production Control and others. Ideal applicants will be pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering.

 Job Requirements:

A successful intern at Powell will have the following characteristics:

Currently pursuing a 4-year degree from an accredited institution Rising Junior or Senior level students continuing their studies in the fall semester Good academic standing; minimum 3.0 GPA Team-player, self-starter, effective communicator, & dependable Possess multi-tasking abilities and strong inter-personal skills

Project Details:

The Manufacturing Engineering internship will be focused on completing a capital expenditure project that will build experience in identifying and evaluating multiple solutions, completing a project justification, and ultimately implementing the appropriate solution (time permitting). Ideal applicants will be pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology.

The Manufacturing Engineering internship will be focused on developing a digital dashboard that will be used to visualize efficiencies or deficiencies in the manufacturing process and serve as a predictive tool to help plan business strategies. Ideal applicants will be pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field.
