Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech We are searching for the best talent for **Manufacturing Engineering Intern** to be in **Santa Clara, CA.** **Purpose:** The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will participate and assist in balloon characterization, creating and updating MPIs, LHRs, DMR, drawings, specifications, and labels. The Intern will also participate in data analysis, methodology improvement projects and design of experiments and the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles with the goal of reducing the processing time per unit. + Internship typical term is 10-12 weeks May to August, 2025 + Full time requirement (40 hours per week) **You will be responsible for:** + Observe and analyze manufacturing process for attaching the catheter connector to the balloon catheter. + Balloon defect characterization and documentation. + Perform testing per released test methods and initial analysis of gathered data. + Create EBR’ to build test samples from the defective balloons, grouped by the type of defect. + Test defective balloons per defined TM. + Analyze data, create ER to report the results. Update visual standards based on test results. + Develop standard work, update Manufacturing Process Instructions, LHRs, DMR, drawings, specification and labels. + Under management supervision, assist with operator training. + Incorporate relevant design changes of next-generation coronary catheter (cable sleeve, 1-wire PCB) into standard work. **Qualifications / Requirements:** + Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at accredited University is required. + Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required. + Undergraduate full-time student attending an accredited university with major emphasis in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering, preferred) or Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry. + Knowledge on Statistic principles (Design of Experiments, DMAIC, etc.), organize and analyze data, applied to manufacturing environments. + Minitab. + Basic knowledge of project management principles to track deliverables, and status of the project. + High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint. + Must have good verbal and written communication skills. + High attention to detail and organizational skills. + Operate as a team or independently under management guidance. + Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship. _The anticipated base pay for this position is between $22.00_ **_/hr_** _and $51.50_ **_/hr_** _, but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. This position is overtime eligible.
