Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will work on projects and initiatives under the supervision of the Manufacturing Engineering staff. As part of the team, the intern will develop an understanding of the Manufacturing processes and develop methods, tools, and documentation to support lean manufacturing and improve the overall product flow.  They undertake a variety of on-going activities and assigned projects at varying levels of professional complexity requiring knowledge within an area of specialty and/or engineering college major.  It is expected that the intern will participate in technical projects designed to develop personal and professional skills appropriate to the needs of the Manufacturing Engineering department.  Work will include daily product review/disposition as well as specific project activity intended to improve yields and/or efficiency of the production line.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree program in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, materials science, etc.).Good communication skills (oral and written)Ability to approach technical problems in a logical and scientific mannerAbility to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work independently and in a team environmentFamiliarity with basic shop and measurement toolsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred:

Familiarity with gathering and analyzing data (MS Access)Familiarity with statistical software packages (Minitab, JMP, etc.)Familiarity with programming (Visual Studio)
