We seek a Manufacturing Engineering Manager 3 for our Deployables Operating Unit to provide Manufacturing leadership and execution support to our sites in Goleta, CA and Oxnard, CA. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager 3 is accountable for the compliance through delivery to external and internal customers, for the entire Manufacturing Engineering team of our Deployables Operating Unit.

Job Duties include:

Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.Accountable for meeting or exceeding the safety, quality, delivery and cost expectations of internal and external customers within entire assigned process center (s).  Ensures plans are developed and executed to meet internal and external customer requirementsEnsures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.Intense focus and ownership of employee development.  Ensure discipline and continuous improvement of all process standards.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field9+ years of work experience in engineering or project management experience in an engineering environment required.5+ years in a leadership position, managing other managers and direct reports with strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and decision-making skills requiredKnowledge of advanced composites engineering and manufacturing processesKnowledge of electro-mechanical and non-destructive inspection/test techniques.Training and successful application of lean principles requiredProficiency in ERP (Costpoint), CAD/PLM and MES (Solumina) systemsKnowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) requiredUS citizenship required

Salary Range: $154,600.00 - $231,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
