Manufacturing Engineering Manager Department: Manufacturing Management Employment Type: Full Time Location: Valencia, California Reporting To: Plant Manager Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000 / year Description The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is key member of the Knowles Valencia leadership team and is responsible for management of manufacturing engineering team. This is a position offering excellent professional and management career development in Knowles Precision Device Division. In this critical role, the Manufacturing Manager will be working side-by-side with Production, Product Management, Planning, Supply chain, QA and R&D teams at Knowles Valencia will be responsible for process development, optimization, introducing new assembly technology and equipment to ensure process that are stable, high yielding and cost effective. Key Responsibilities + Develop and manage a strong engineering team of 10+ process engineers, technicians and industrial engineers to improve process effectiveness, introduce new assembly technology/automation equipment, optimize process capability. + Participate in cross-functional design reviews to ensure process capability and design for manufacturability are effectively considered during new process development or new product introduction. + Create visibility to key metrics including project status, project funnel, process capability measures, SPC, etc. + Lead team to achieve the financial objectives including yield target and scrap target which are assigned by plant manager. + Evaluate, prioritize and justify capital expenditures to support process improvement projects. + Develop and manage production qualification plans for new equipment and processes. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise + BS degree in Engineering Mechanical or Electrical discipline preferred. + PMP certification preferred. + 5+ years progressive experience in Process Engineering, Product Engineering or Operations Management + 10+ Experience in electronics components manufacturing, semiconductor or similar industry preferred + Experience in project management + Demonstrated experience deploying lean methodologies and process controls + Experience using advanced statistical tools such as DOE and SPC + Experience with ITAR, APQP, AS9100, AS9145, MIL STDs preferred + Strong working knowledge of MS Suite including advance skills with Microsoft Excel + Detail oriented and thorough + Excellent written and oral communication skills Benefits What’s in it for you on Day 1: + Medical, dental and vision insurance plans + Prescription Drug Plans + Basic Life Insurance + 401k plan with company match + Tuition Reimbursement Program + Employee Referral Program + Flexible PTO + Paid Holidays Exciting Onsite Perks: + Free coffee available at our cafeteria + Employee Appreciation Events Knowles is committed to providing a competitive and fair total compensation package for all employees. One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $140,000 to $160,000 per year. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Knowles, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company.
