Manufacturing engineering specialist, mechanical
About This Role This position supports our simulation products with knowledge of design tools such as Creo and MicroStation. Is the primary point of contact for all problems and requests from the manufacturing group to ensure stability and standardization of our products. Provides ideas for improving our processes, tools and products to lower our costs, decrease delays, increase quality, and work safely. Is able to use computer-aided design and drawing software to perform design creation tasks. Teamwork, communicating and working with different groups, and open-mindedness are major assets. Your duties: + Mechanical support for assembly and manufacturing cells. + CAD and drawing using Creo and MicroStation. + Designing tools to assist production and to improve production health and safety. + Suggesting improvements in our processes, products and tools by applying Lean principles. + Working on a team focused on customer needs. + Finding solutions to complex issues. + Reading and interpreting engineering drawings. + Must be able to actively participate in an environment with several stakeholders and duties. + Performing various other required duties. Skills: + Mechanical knowledge for design and drawing. + Knowledge of the Creo CAD tool and of 2D MicroStation. + Knowledge of the Lean Six Sigma tools. + Good interpersonal skills. + Clear, logical communication of information. + Autonomy; sense of responsibility. + Focused on teamwork; has good team spirit. + Ability to manage priorities, work on several projects at once, stay on schedule and meet tight deadlines. + Good organizational skills. + Ability to adapt to change. + Attention to detail; pride in a job well done. + Knowledge of PowerBI an asset. Requirements: + Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent or a technical diploma in a related field. + 3 or more years of experience in the field. + Experience in an ANDON support environment is a major asset. + Basic knowledge of the MS Office Suite. + Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with interdisciplinary teams. + Bilingualism. + Work in an office environment.
