Manufacturing Engineering Specialist - Smart Warehouse Technologist (12-month term) As a member of the Manufacturing Engineering Support team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and training for warehouse equipment, managing labeling tasks, overseeing the material management system, and ensuring efficient operation of the incoming good automation, automated x-ray counters, JUKI machines and equipment related to value added part conversion (i.e.: re-balling). This role plays a critical part in improving overall warehouse efficiency. Location: **_Ottawa, ON_** Your Challenge: + Equipment Support & Training: Provide technical support and training for all warehouse equipment to ensure optimal operation and usage. + Labeling: Manage and execute labeling tasks for various products and materials within the warehouse. + Material Management System: Oversee and maintain the material management system, ensuring accurate tracking and management of inventory. + Smart Incoming Material Receive Table: Setup and maintain the smart incoming material receive table to ensure smooth and efficient processing of incoming materials. + JUKI Machine Operations: Support, troubleshoot, and maintain JUKI machines to ensure they function effectively and efficiently. + Re-balling: Oversee and support re-balling operation and fixturing. SAP Operation: Work with operation stakeholders to support SAP core warehouse functions. + Efficiency Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance overall warehouse efficiency and productivity. + Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse staff and manufacturing engineer to ensure seamless operations and address any issues promptly. + Support with the implementation of new equipment and processes + Evaluate and recommend changes to current and future system requirements to meet organizational needs within warehouse operations. + Make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new and existing processes. + Evaluate and recommend best practice solutions to achieve departmental / business unit objectives through discovery activities and lean six-sigma events. + Provide support extracting, presenting and evaluating data to improve warehouse efficiency What you Bring: + Education: Technician / Technologist Diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in warehouse operation or related field preferred + Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse technician/technologist role, with hand-on experience with smart warehouse technologies and equipment + Technical Skills: Proficiency in using warehouse management systems, familiarity with JUKI machines and other relevant equipment, experience with SAP is considered an asset + Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiency. + Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to train and support warehouse staff + Teamwork: A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively as part of a team **Who We Are** Our Values (https://www.curtisswright.com/company/sustainability/core-values/default.aspx) Environmental, Social and Governance At our world-class manufacturing and design facility in Ottawa, Ontario, we manufacture rugged products optimized for high-mix, high quality and small batch sizes typical of military requirements.
