Manufacturing Engineering Technician 1st shift

Position Overview

This position will provide comprehensive technical support to Proterra’s Battery Operations, Manufacturing Engineering and other site leadership team members. You will be responsible for providing a full range of technical solutions to client groups at the site and be in an environment where you can have a greater impact.

 

About the Role – You will:

Work with Manufacturing engineering to perform process analysis and improvement. Execute the creation and implementation of continuous improvement projects. Perform time studies as needed. PO management for all tooling and material outside of the scope of machine. Validate build process for New Products. Work with Engineering during C sample to understand variation. Support Maintenance when needed during machine downtime and provide technical assistance to manufacturing engineers. Help manage process changes on the line. Support automated and manual assembly processes and system implementation. Contribute to quality by implementing standards, test protocols and analysis to identify areas of improvement. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

This position will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering team that supports Proterra’s Battery Manufacturing and Engineering operations in Greer, SC. You will report to the Manufacturing Engineer and collaborate with other team members across the manufacturing and operations organization.

 

 

 

About You:

Your Experience Includes:

Degree in Engineering Technology is preferred or equivalent relevant experience. Experience with production line launches and process controls. PLC experience is preferred. 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment. Ability to perform failure investigation independently. Good analytical skills and communicate effectively with all levels. Experience with automated equipment for product assembly. Physical Demands: May work various shifts as needed; may be requested to travel to different locations. Lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds. Able to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight spaces. Good eye/hand coordination and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items. Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion. Environmental Demands: Ability to work in manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions. Wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment. Works with irritant chemicals, gases, etc.
