We are looking for an energetic and initiative-taking Manufacturing Engineering Technician for our location. The ideal candidate will have experience as a manufacturing technician in the field of optics, crystals, and / or lasers manufacturing.
Responsibilities include:
Perform various functions associated with fabrication of optical components such as profiling, cutting, milling, grinding, beveling, blocking, polishing, edging, cleaning and testing using appropriate machines and equipment Manufacture optical components in a production environment by loading and aligning components on fabrication machines and reviewing and modifying setup parameters depends on crystal orientation Support the development of manufacturing process of an optical component utilizing existing equipment and technologies or suggesting new cost-efficient approach. Assist in research root cause failure analysis of equipment on the production floor when reported. Become an in-house expert in your area of work. Have a good understanding optical manufacturing processes, included metrology and inspection steps needed to make sure that the developed process is correct.Education & Experience:
HS Diploma required; Associate in manufacturing engineering or equivalent in optics or lasers preferred 8+ years’ work experience in optics, fabrication, or relevant area of photonics in an industrial production environment Previous experience operating precision hand tools such as micrometers and calipers preferred Need to be able to operate and use microscope, and computer Knowledge of fabrication and polishing of the optical components. Knowledge of crystal fabrication a plus Hands on experience in optical shop CNC programming. Utilizing microscopes, interferometers, X-ray machines, and laser measurement setup Basic knowledge and experience in project management. OneNote, Microsoft Office, Oracle, or similar software Six Sigma, C-Lean, and 5S knowledge necessary Candidate must be able to perform frequent and sustained standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., and have sufficient visual acuity for reading computer screens and hardcopy documents.Safety Requirements
