Manufacturing Excellence Coordinator

Context and Main Purpose of the Job

The Manufacturing Excellence (ManEx) Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of key Manufacturing Excellence (Manex) initiatives on-site serving as partners to the Production Manager and First Line Managers. The role ensures that Manex initiatives are aligned with the site’s overall vision, masterplan and regional guidelines.

Key Responsibilities / Focus Areas:

Factory Programs and Standards

Coordinates with Site ManEx Manager to define needs and UMS program of the Site.Leads the execution of ManEx activities such as Kaizen and training implementation under the Factory Academy in line with the SU Strategy.Reviews the ManEx masterplan on a regular basis based on the R2S program (Daily Drumbeat and Healthcheck).Implementation of UMS Recognition and Awards System.Provides support to shopfloor activities, i.e. facility for technical training center.Serves as an Internal Auditor  for Food Safety and other quality programs/standards.

Factory Performance Delivery

Establishes standards for measuring factory performance i.e. productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale.Analyzes and submits monthly Factory performance reports based on pre-established Key Performance Indicators aligned with AMIS.Coordinates and drives the delivery of cost reduction targets.Drives loss elimination programs in the factory and monitors activities to sustain the continuous improvement culture.Leads and facilitates Kaizen meetings, which focus on priority losses.Teaches, coaches and mentors teams to utilize all necessary Focused Improvement tools, linking these to the reduction of losses and waste in the factory.Participates in the quarterly Wall-to-Wall Inventory Count in the Factory by examining and checking the accuracy of SU and Finance Auditor findings until PID creation and validation are completed.

Production Cost Governance

Coordinates with SC Finance partner in the preparation of site’s FY cost budget in line with the overall Factory strategyTranslates the annual budget into monthly buckets and down to Leading KPIs, which is then shared to Production teams on a monthly basisMonitors Leading KPIs on a daily/weekly basis, provides analysis in case targets are missed and proposes a short-term action planLeads monthly review of production cost performance thru the SU Efficiency meeting (in partnership with SC Finance) and savings performance. Provides detailed analysis and recommend action plans to close gaps.Analyzes the SRS system by uploading 5S Savings under Production Cost and Material Waste which is visible to the Global teamMonitors and analyzes all variable consumption rateSpearheads savings workshop and aligns and reflects agreement in MRF COGP database

Ice Cream Global Benchmarking Activity 

Coordinates cluster best-in-class cost benchmarking for the factory to identify opportunities to further drive down costPerforms feasibility studies on opportunities identified and translates these to concrete project plansDrives and supports execution of BIC projects identifiedIdentifies and drives simplification initiatives in the factory, in collaboration with SU Plan (example: Simply Fly)Performs Real-Time-Value-Adding Reporting of Output reliability sensing the planned volume accuracy in SAP databaseAnalyzes the global rank of PTG Benchmarking per KPI under the MDCS catalog

Ice Cream Capability and Learning 

Supports the Factory Academy together with the Coaches’ support focusing on addressing problems on the shopfloor by applying the 10-20-70 learning principleCreates the training schedule based on Factory Calendar, allotting key modules every week for sign-off by the Subject Matter Experts and then reviewed quarterly for efficiencyMonitors and analyzes the compliance of BOMOTO (Basic Operator-Machine Operator-Technical Operator) per Cell thus, giving directions and improving methods to sustain Servant Leadership

Others

Supports employee engagement programs for the factory (example: Sportfest, Monthly Kamustahan, Recognition Programs, Factory Summer Outing, Christmas Party, etc.)Leads and/or participates in projects that will support process improvements and efficiency for the site’s operation.Supports the rewards program for people, together with the HRBP and Site

Qualifications

BS Engineering degree or allied course with discipline focusing on process improvement, systems thinking and operations management.Strong attention to details and analytical skillsEffective problem solving skills, systems-thinking, making recommendations for process improvementsHas the ability to prepare technical reportsEffective English communication skillsSelf-starter, pro-active, action-oriented, comfortable to work with deadlines
