Job Summary
Responsible to perform in process and finished product inspections by way of visual and functional testing. Basic job functions are done on an independent basis. Requires minimal supervision. Consult with Supervisor or QA Section when questions/problems arise.
Job Details/Responsibilities1. Associate is responsible to follow requirements of applicable national and international regulations.
2. Perform visual, functional, and dimensional testing using appropriate instruments (i.e. Instron, comparator, microscope or other lab equipment) to ensure specifications are met. Also responsible for startup inspections.
3. Inspect lot numbers, expiration dates, product code numbers, labels, stamps, etc., are in compliance with manufacturing orders and specifications.
4. Responsible for product release to sterilization.
5. Follow up on rejections to isolate the rejected product and problem solve.
6. May include providing assistance to Assemblers, Manufacturing Inspector I, and Operators
7. Maintain clean work area.
8. May include training of other employees.
9. Associate is responsible to follow requirements of TMC Quality System; including but not limited to: process controls, inspection procedures, document/data control, change control practices.
10. Performs other job related duties assigned.
11. Participates in project performance team meetings on behalf of the job unit in order to provide ideas, methods, or processes for unit/company performance improvement.
Position requires gowning procedures for controlled environment. Typically works around high-speed machinery which requires close attention to safety to prevent physical entanglement and product jams, etc. May at times require the use of hearing protection depending on noise level.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) Conscious of quality with the ability to recognize deviations from established standards. Computer experience, Mathematical ability (algebra level), and a background in chemistry, methodology, lab inspection, QC experience, etc., preferred. Communication skills both verbal and written. Typically requires exacting visual attention to job being performed. Typically requires frequent lifting up to 20 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Requires manual dexterity/hand-eye coordination with 20/20, equivalent, or corrective vision. May require some walking with a high percentage of time spent sitting.
Qualifications/ Background Experiences Typically requires a high school diploma with an A.A. degree in related science preferred.
