Job Description:

Microchip is seeking an Intern to join our Manufacturing team at our Lowell, Massachusetts manufacturing site. This individual will split their time working on continuous improvement projects and completing routine tasks.  Partnering with senior leaders, you will learn how to utilize Microchip's ERP system as well as tools such as Tableau, and SharePoint.  Some tasks will be mapped out, but others will rely on the intern, together with subject matter experts, employ creativity and common sense.

This job is part time with flexible hours.

Specific responsibilities include:

Physically and transactionally move material through our factory as neededAnalyze and publish supply and demand informationWork with suppliers to provide services for our productsCompose and distribute product and inventory statusesManage shipment of product to outside service vendorsMaintain data in our ERP system

Requirements/Qualifications:

The successful candidate will:

Be a self-starter and team player who is willing to ask questions, learn from experts, and suggest changesBe able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environmentComplete tasks independently, asking for clarification as neededTake ownership of tasks and strive for improvementBe open to suggesting improvements in our processesBe comfortable using Excel or Google sheets

Required:

US citizenshipEnrolled in a degree program in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Industrial Engineering
