What Will You Do?

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Engineering
Manage and directs the Manufacturing Engineering function to ensure all assigned duties are completed in a timely, quality minded, and cost-effective manner.
Assures documentation regarding internal procedures for component production are available, current and accurate BOMS and data are entered into SAP.
Assures time standards are defined with detail precision and entered in SAP for all direct and indirect labor hours as well as machine hours and any required rework labor.
Works to develop manufacturing processes that optimize the most efficient production methods and workplace layout utilizing the lean principles and methodologies.
Strongly advocates total quality concepts of customer requirements, continuous improvement, goals, measurements, etc.
Coordinates corrective actions: through end-of-run meetings and production notes driving suggestions for design changes to improve manufacturability and process innovation.
Responsible for the factory capacity at a machine level (theoretical) and coordinates with operations and planning to insure optimum capacity utilization and efficiency.
Works with other departments to assure schedules and capacities are adequate to support marketing requirements.
Research and develop utilization of innovative technology to improve product efficient manufacturability and cost.
Responsible for injection molding processes and standards. Improves molding quality using mold pressure and computer control technology
Project Engineering
Stay current in and coordinate the introduction of innovative technologies, processes, and procedures to enhance and facilitate quality and productivity improvements.
Analyzes and recommends ideas and drives changes, including any capital expenditures to reduce/improve energy consumption/utilization.
Analyzes, designs, and implements changes to plant layout utilizing lean principles for all equipment to improve productivity, quality, and operator safety in coordination with Operations leadership.
Responsible for the overall project management and coordination for capital projects. Coordinates capital project implementation including justification, competitive bidding, and program completion.
New Product Introductions
Responds to request for quotes on all new products requested.
Ensures all manufacturing documentation is ready, on-time for the first production run.
Utilizes Lean principles in process development and design for driving set up time reductions, waste elimination and standardized operating procedures through the new product development cycle.
Implements concurrent engineering practices – promoting team building at all levels and focusing on “design for manufacturing” practices.
Works with Quality department on process capability studies to assess product designs and our manufacturing processes.
Works with Design engineering to produce prototype as needed.
Production equipment
Responsible for all production equipment, fixtures, equipment acquisition, development, implementation, replacement of obsolete equipment.
Keep the production equipment up time operating within safety, quality, efficiency and company goals.
Innovation with IoT 4.0 technology as part of the continuous improvement strategy
Ensures all new production tooling is completed and available by production startup.
Maintains the tool log system for tracking and approving all controlled tools throughout the plant.
Establishes preventative maintenance schedules to ensure tooling is safe and producing high quality components.
Responsible for mold tools repair and improvements.
Facilities Maintenance
Perform and fulfill all required facility maintenance activities to keep the building in conditions for production operations and as required by regulated governmental agencies such as the STPS.
Keep all utilities available for the normal operations. Water, Restrooms, electrical, heater, evaporative cooling, etc.
Monitor compliance with all the parameters required for the city disposal of waste.
Financial and Budget Control
Works with the Operations leadership team to develop and execute a strategic annual and long range capital plan
Approves all engineering purchase orders to assure assigned cost centers are maintained within the approved budget guidelines.

What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:Engineering Degree - Electric, Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics.
Five (5) years of experience as a manufacturing & maintenance engineering manager.
Bilingual - English/Spanish
Strong leadership, team building, organizational development, coaching and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills.
Excited to be hands on, working with the production team on continuous improvement, process optimization, and process development projects. Driven with a high internal standard for personal and facility performance.
Willing and able to make facility level decisions independently on a regular basis, generally consulting with the Director of Operations on decisions that may affect timelines, profit margins, other departments, and capitalized projects.
Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production. Works well with ambiguity.
Must have strong oral and written communication skills, must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work closely with subordinates, peers and higher levels of management. Effective in working within a highly matrixed organization.
Highly motivated, results oriented with the ability to work independently, under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple initiatives concurrently, attend to details, and meet deadlines.
Holds self and others to a high standard of personal and facility performance.
Desirable: SAP, AUTOCAD, plastic injection & SMT.
