DescriptionEssential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioMerieux's Quality System.Perform repairs involving manual to semi-automated manufacturing and/or packaging equipment. Perform basic routine preventative and scheduled maintenance on manual to semi-automated production equipment, which may include the replacement of failed/broken components (i.e. bearing, belts, motors, brazing, etc.), cleaning and lubricating parts, etc.Provide emergency support to repair production equipment in order to keep production lines operational at all times. Perform troubleshooting activities to identify issues with equipment and use judgement to repair or correct those issues. Must be able to take and pass required EPA testing for refrigeration certification. Dismantle defective and/or outdated equipmentBuild and install new/repaired parts or equipment according to blueprints, specifications, WIDs, and SOPs. Performs automation repair tasks as they relate to hardware.Perform off-line mechanical rework activities. Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioMerieux's Quality System.Perform other duties as assignedTraining and EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree in a scientific/technical discipline is preferred.ExperienceMinimum of 2.5 years of experience in a directly related field/role. Previous experience in a fast-paced cGMP environment is strongly preferred. Previous hands-on repair, electrical troubleshooting, & maintenance troubleshooting experience required. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrate ability to problem solve and troubleshoot technical issues/equipmentAbility to perform hands on repairs using a variety of hand toolsMust be able to interpret and follow blueprints, WIDs, etc.Must possess well-developed interpersonal skills and a willingness to work collaboratively and take direction from other team membersEffective written and verbal communication skills to interface with all levels of the manufacturing organization and to carry out required documentation activitiesDemonstrated sense of urgency when carrying out critical tasksAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Propensity for paying close attention to detailsBasic experience with or exposure to the following is required:Electrical SystemsMechanical SystemsAutomated manufacturing equipmentPneumaticDocumentationPhysical RequirementsAble to safely lift 50 pounds. Must be able to perform duties wearing a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
