Manufacturing Manager Our Manufacturing Managers are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a manufacturing department, ensuring that operations meets the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency. Responsibilities: Operational Excellence: Ensure all manufacturing processes meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. Actively manage safety programs to integrate safety measures into daily operations and maintain strict compliance with regulatory requirements with a continuous improvement mindset. Leadership & Development: Lead, motivate, retain and develop a diverse team by fostering an environment of trust and collaboration. Implement training programs and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team capabilities and performance. Provide coaching and development, make employment decisions, and resolve issues through effective problem resolution. Performance Management: Monitor and review performance metrics regularly, holding the team accountable for meeting targets. Lead effective team meetings and use visual management tools to drive decision-making and improvements. Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provide regular progress reports to the manager. Determine root cause for failed metrics and work collaboratively to implement corrective action plans. Strategic Operations: Work closely with the General Manager and other senior leaders to align manufacturing strategies with the company's overall objectives. Utilize problem-solving tools and techniques to address operational challenges and enhance outcomes. Community and Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in community service projects and maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders, including operations, sales teams, and external partners, to optimize material usage and operational improvements. Qualifications: High school degree or GED 3-5 years of industry experience in a manufacturing environment Preferred Education and Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a production environment Associates degree preferred at minimum Management/Leadership experience. Lean proficiency Proficiency in Microsoft office including D365 Essential Functions: Ensure effective team member relations and building trusting relationships Balance quality, productivity, cost, labor, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Provide leadership through activities like recruiting, interviewing, routine 1 on 1 discussions, annual reviews, and disciplinary conversations. Assist with accident investigations as needed. Maintain proper inventory levels if applicable within business unit Manage department priorities which could include production scheduling, lean projects Track absenteeism and timekeeping. Review and correct errors in time punch reports for designated team members to ensure accurate payroll processing. Responsible for reporting machine or system issues to maintenance Actively participate in manufacturing products when demand calls for it or team building Work closely with internal and external customers Competencies: Leadership: Ability to guide and motivate a diverse team, ensuring alignment with the company's core values, leader qualities, and strategic goals. Performance Management: Skill in monitoring team performance against standards, managing metrics, and providing feedback to drive continuous improvement. Communication Proficiency: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly and persuasively across all levels of the organization. Time Management: Effectiveness in managing one's own time and the time of others to ensure that work is completed efficiently. Technical Capacity: Understanding of technical aspects of the job, including manufacturing processes and safety protocols. Learning Orientation: A continual commitment to learning and self-improvement, seeking feedback and opportunities to grow professionally. Supervisory Responsibility: This position manages all team members of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the team members within that department. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time salary exempt position, and hours will vary depending on workloads. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
