How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Manufacturing Manager, you will for overseeing the daily operations and supervision of the personnel in EM (Electro Mechanical) assembly, overall site EHS and facility management. The MM makes sure products are produced safely and cost efficiently and ensures products are delivered on time and meet the required quality standards. Additionally, the MM will be involved in the pre-production planning as well as the production staging. A large part of the Manufacturing Managers responsibility directing the EM employees, nurturing and growing each individual, ensuring their safety and addressing any of their concerns. This is an 100% on-site role.

EM Assembly
Oversee EM operational systems, processes, and infrastructure assuring practices are consistent, and processes are followed while looking for opportunitie of improvement or revision. Work with planning and purchasing on the scheduling and ordering of materials, planning inventory and supporting warehouse efficiency. Work closely with planning, purchasing, quality and warehouse to ensure parts are available and ready prior to initiating assembly. Work with these functions to resolve issues in their respective areas that might prevent EM from starting assembly as planned. Track line shortages and expedite same through purchasing/receiving/stock to floor. Directly supervise ten to twenty employees. Includes recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewading and disciplining employees; addressing concerns and resolving problems. Monitor and balance the various assembly areas for throughput based on the shipping schedules Constantly be evaluating the necessary resources which includes people, equipment and tools needed to assemble to the production plan. Move, adjust and put in requests for additional resources as needed. Anticipates and tracks operational and tactical risks and provides solutions to prevent and mitigate risks. Oversee and supervise the quality of work within EM ensuring that all tasks are performed correctly. Work with Quality Manager to ensure quality controls are put in place and to find ways to improve quality Communicates workplace safety requirements and precautions to EM employees. Formulate EM strategic and operational objectives. Manage department budgets and forecasts Monitor EM KPIs. Creates mitigation plans when measures consistently miss target and/or trend negative.
Facility
Communicates and coordinates with landlord the repair & maintenance of the building/grounds including emergency and preventive type repairs and ensuring work is completed appropriately and on-time Monitors the safety and cleanliness of the interior and exterior areas including custodial functions. Maintain recycling program in facility Manages and reviews facility service contracts. Conducts and documents regular facilities inspections.
EHS
Organizes and leads the Safety Team Ensures all employees conduct annual safety training Be the site liaison to Corporate EHS team and does all reporting to corporate team as required. Ensure security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly and that sufficient drills and training are completed. Be the liaison to OSHA, includes submission of annual reports and notification of incidents

Required Experience
Minimum of 10 years work experience at a company that does EM (electromechanical) assembly Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an assembly leadership role, directly managing assembly team at a company that performs EM assembly Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook Experience in Oracle, a plus
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be hands on with the ability and willingness to jump in at any time to assembly, move parts, and/or perform any other task expected of subordinates, this an on the floor job. Electromechanical assembly experience be in more complex electro-mechanical equipment. More weighted to electro than mechanical. Skills in assembly and reworking metals, cables/harnesses and metals Able to understand mechanical drawing, electrical schematics and assembly procedures Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables Knowledge of Internet software, ERP / MRP systems and Processing software (Windows based). Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to direct reports and peers Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team Must have knowledge Microsoft Office, practical experience using Oracle a plus ISO 9001 experience required and statistical analysis skills important
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in engineering, manufacturing, or similar technical area
Salary Information
We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. As required by law in this state, the quoted salary range for this position is $121,500 to $174,200 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus, subject to the rules governing the plan.
