Manufacturing Manager

Role Summary

Flowserve is hiring a motivated Manufacturing Manager for an aftermarket manufacturing site located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Direct activities within the manufacturing operations team as it relates to production, quality, and support personnel thereof. Enhances and maximizes continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing practices. Ensuring safety policies and procedures are met. Manager analyzes cost, process flows, production schedules to determine maximum efficiency and utilization of workers and equipment. They will ensure efficient production while promoting and working safely within established policies and procedures. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global manufacturing company and contribute to the QRC focusing on control valve repair and service.
 

Responsibilities:

The Manufacturing Manager will oversee all assembly activities to ensure a safe work environment, a quality product, and on-time customer service.  Manage assembly and aftermarket parts manufacturing activities.  Utilize and embrace lean manufacturing activities and sound analytical tools to drive continuous improvement.  Train, motivate, challenge, and develop subordinates to ensure continuous skill and performance improvements.  Interact with personnel throughout the organization as needed to ensure goals and objectives are met. The successful candidate will have familiarity with parts assembly processes, CNC/Manual lathe machining processes, MIG/TIG welding fabrication and overlay processes, and valve repair as well as production and materials planning. 

Reduce the overall cost of quality.  Manage all aspects of the business such that employee’s and processes adhere to the requirements of the Quality Manual, Procedures, and Standards. Meet or exceed shipping goal every month and ship products on-time to customer requirements, minimizing delinquencies.Effectively manage all direct reports while enforcing work rules fairly and consistently.  Instill accountability in employees to perform at a higher level.  Cross-train employees and utilize them regularly to facilitate flexibility and responsiveness.Promote lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste elimination in all activities.Direct training and improvement activities to support and meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.Support and guide cross-functional teams. Utilize visual management and metrics to monitor and manage to include, timely completion of metrics and monthly report, and process tracking tools.Ensure compliance with established policies, processes, and procedures throughout the business.Investigate, develop, and implement improved processes and procedures.

Requirements:

HS Diploma/Bachelor's Degree or equivalent 10 years of aftermarket service industry experience in lieu of education.Manufacturing experience with direct reports in a managerial capacity.Track record of hands-on leadership in an industrial environment.Demonstrate effective leadership within a customer-focused environment that is deadline driven. Ability to wear multiple hats, from scheduling/planning to facilities management to communicating with customers and/or vendors. Positive leadership skills, high level communication skills (verbally/electronically), computer literacy, trouble shooting ability, and high problem-solving skills.Highly Proficient in MS Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP experience

Preferred Experience/Skills

B.S. or B.A. in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial engineering or related fieldExperience in manufacture of control valves or related components is a plus.Prior field experience in petrochemical, industrial chemical, or oil & gas industries a plus.Prior experience in applications engineering, field engineering or similar would be helpful. Prior success with 6S Implementation and reorganization of shop efficiency and workflow
