Looking for a Manufacturing Manager in Tomball TX.

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing process. Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. They develop, analyze, and optimize processes to identify ways to improve efficiency and increase productivity. They also liaise with engineers & project managers to execute project schedules.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for projects in keeping with effective operation and cost factors. Evaluates KPI metrics (Utilization, On-Time Delivery, Efficiency, & First-Pass Yield) to optimize performance of Manufacturing & Warehouse operations. Sets up and/or approves production schedules to ensure that goals are met, and finished goods are delivered per commitments. Recruits, selects, onboards, trains, and mentor employees. Controls flow of materials and utilization of labor to ensure adequate production at required quality levels to fulfill production requirements of the manufacturing schedule. Ensure review of inventories and assist in monitoring the maintenance of inventory of all manufacturing material & supplies as required to produce all panels. Coordinates production activities with project managers, engineering, & quality control to obtain optimum production and utilization staff, tools & machines. Monitor and propose requisitions for maintenance and repair of shop equipment, machine parts, and manufacturing supplies. Responsible for making improvements in operations, equipment, and manufacturing methods. Responsible for establishing the culture to enable motivation and development of subordinates to optimize their performance and their personal and professional growth. Utilizes System to manage metrics; provides feedback and reports monthly to leadership on progress of metrics. Leads efforts to measure customer satisfaction and achievement of production plans. Facilitates problem solving to continuously improve operational performance. Ensures customer, financial and employee objectives are measured and achieved. Ensures culture of high performance and high involvement is achieved.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

The Manufacturing Manager reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing. The Manufacturing Manager works directly with other departments including Sales/Estimating, Field Service, Project Managers, & Regional Vice Presidents. The Manufacturing Manager manages the Assembly Technicians and Warehouse operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a control panel manufacturing facility. Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role. Previous experience in the Water & Wastewater industry is a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Office products. Excellent communications skills and the ability to work well with others are required.  Ability to motivate others on a team and help them succeed. Multitasking skills and the ability to tend to multiple problems at a time. Problem-solving skills, especially in situations of high stress. Organizational skills to manage large amounts of information. Ability to generate a variety of reports and presentations displaying regional performance. Strong knowledge of company policy, goals, and standards.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

Ability to articulate & communicate verbally with management and other co-workers is crucial.  Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.  Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive information and to inspect enclosures, components, and documents. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

This job is performed indoors.  Exposure to common dust, fumes, wire clippings, and noise in a fabrication environment is limited, but expected.  Activities include extended periods of time on the computer.

 

TRAVEL

Travel is rare but may be up to 10%.
