Summary
The role of the manufacturing manager is to ensure the smooth running of production, to deliver the site business objectives – Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery & People. The manufacturing manager in the absence of the site manager steps in as the 2IC to operate the site.
Key Responsibilities
Establish KPI’s to measure performance and assist reduction of conversion costs of all products.
Monitor product yields, labour usages and ingredient and packaging usage daily.
Review to identify improvement opportunities.
Ensure staff involvement and contribution to continuous improvement.
Provide feedback to all staff through daily posting of production achievement.
Perform assigned tasks in accordance with all Kraft Heinz Food Safety, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Ethical and Human Resources policies, programs and goals.
Uphold the Kraft Heinz values and to work in a way that contributes to the company’s vision
Plan and monitor all production activity with relevant resources (planning, process owners, FSQ, maintenance etc etc)
Provide training plans and review staff performance
In consultation with Engineering Manager and Planning lead, plan and implement run strategy to maximise efficiency and preventative maintenance activity
Formulate cost centre and capital spend budgets, reforecast as required
Monitor and prioritise spend in department.
Assist with planning and commissioning of process related capital projects
Assist with new product development, product costings and factory trials
Maintain a highly skilled, competent and motivated workforce
Interact with different departments
About you
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mid-senior operations role managing < 50 staff in a complex FMCG environment
Tertiary Manufacturing qualification and/or significant Production Management experience
Stakeholder management experience – be able to communicate across various levels.
Process knowledge and experience.
Planning and scheduling skill and experience
Labour supervision and team leading skill and experience
Lean / Continuous Improvement experience and knowledge
People management – development & performance management, succession planning capability build
Project management skill
Budget and cost control skill and experience
Excellent communication skills both written and oral
Computer literacy to being proficient at least to Excel and Word level
