Manufacturing Manager

About the Role: We are looking for 2 Manufacturing Managers to join our team:

Commercialized Products - This position is responsible for directly leading a team that manufactures commercialized product including manufacturing operators, Area Leaders, Production Leaders and other support personnel as required. Primary goals include maintaining the proper team staffing in order to meet established build plans while meeting key business metrics. This role requires the ability to travel up to 5%.

Finished Goods Supply Chain (FGSC) - This position will lead a team of Production Leaders, Area Leaders, and support associates across multiple teams and shifts that manufacture commercialized products. This Manufacturing Leader will partner closely with the FGSC Manufacturing Leader in Flagstaff to ensure consistency across all FGSC manufacturing processes, procedures and improvements. They will also interface with our European partner in the Netherlands and drive accountability for build plans, lead time, headcount, and continuous improvement. This role requires the ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time for the first year and up to 15% of the time thereafter.

 

Both roles will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland. 

 

Pay and Benefits:

$115,000 - $152,000 per year Factors considered in extending an offer within this pay range include (but not limited to) education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. We offer a comprehensive total rewards package, including competitive benefits.  More details are available at www.gore.com/careers/benefits   Responsibilities:  Develop long-term resourcing plans related to staffing, equipment, and other resources to effectively meet business needs Develop creative solutions and scenarios with a sense of urgency to reconcile supply and demand to deliver business outcomes Manage investments to achieve objectives for areas of responsibility Establish and promote a continuous improvement environment within the team and ensure the application of lean principles Establish clear expectations of equitable and inclusive behaviors from Associates and act immediately to appropriately address negatively impactful or unfair behavior Accountable for the performance management, leadership development, and compensation processes for the manufacturing team including team leaders and leader of leaders Implement key manufacturing initiatives, metrics, and goals for the team that are in alignment with business priorities Cultivate strong partnerships with all manufacturing support functions, including engineering, planning, quality assurance, environmental health & safety, regulatory, etc Maintain compliance with quality system requirements with training expectations for self and team and maintain compliance with training expectations as required for this position Perform additional responsibilities as required within the scope of position and promote a culture of zero injury while ensuring compliance to all environmental, health and safety requirements  

Required Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years directly leading people, materials, and flow of information in a manufacturing environment; or a minimum of 5 years directly leading people, materials, and flow of information in a manufacturing environment ​ Experience fairly and directly addressing performance issues, establishing expectations, and holding others accountable Experience achieving tangible business results by identifying and utilizing data driven systems, problem solving, and analytical tools Experience establishing or executing safety goals, metrics, and reviews while creating an environment where environmental, health, and safety is integral to the business Experience managing capacity and staffing plans to reliably meet build schedules and inventory targets Experience working within a rigorous quality system, with emphasis in creating, reviewing, and ensuring procedural compliance Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment with clear understanding of equitable practices Direct knowledge and experience coaching lean principles in support of continuous improvement Excellent written and verbal communication skills to lead positively through change Ability to develop successful leaders and foster a positive, inclusive, engaging, and team-based environment Ability to travel up to 5% for the Commercialized Products role, and up to 25% for the first year and up to 15% thereafter for the Finished Goods Supply Chain role

 

Desired Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or supply chain  Experience leading a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment   Six Sigma Certification and/or comparable certifications
