Manufacturing Operations Specialist

Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing operational processes within a unionized manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for overseeing timekeeping, purchase order processing, and attendance management, ensuring compliance with union agreements and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to working with both management and union representatives.
Key Responsibilities:Timekeeping and Attendance Management:Manage and process employee time sheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor agreements.Monitor attendance records and address discrepancies promptly, collaborating with HR and union representatives as needed.Prepare and submit reports on attendance and labor hours to management.Purchase Order Processing:Process and track purchase orders related to manufacturing operations, ensuring timely procurement of materials and supplies.Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve any issues related to orders or deliveries.Payroll Administration:Assist in the preparation of payroll by ensuring all time and attendance data is accurate and submitted on time.Work with the payroll department to address any payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies.Compliance and Reporting:Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, safety regulations, and union agreements.Prepare reports related to labor utilization, overtime, and productivity for management review.Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and compliance purposes.Collaboration and Communication:Serve as a point of contact for union representatives regarding attendance, payroll, and operational inquiries.Facilitate communication between management and union members to address concerns and promote a positive working environment.Participate in union meetings as needed to provide operational insights and updates.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred).Previous experience in a manufacturing or operations role, preferably in a union environment.Strong understanding of labor agreements, payroll processes, and timekeeping systems.Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP or payroll software.Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and accuracy in data management.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.Boart Longyear welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
