Manufacturing Process Engineer

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Manufacturing Process Development and Improvement 

New process is released to production on time and within budget Continuous process improvements made with cost reduction Continuous process improvements made to eliminate/reduce dependency to expense items Significantly improved yields for those products showing processing difficulties without increasing the unit cost Quality products always delivered to internal customer Completion of tasks and projects on time with a prompt response and technical documentation Lead and coordinate projects within Engineering for process development

Manufacturing Process Support 

Maintain current processes in focus areas to specifications set by process procedures and product specifications.  Write/edit procedures & train operators. Interact with suppliers to qualify new materials for processes.  Provide technical support to Assembly projects as well as companywide projects. React to production problems in real time to ensure timely delivery of the products. Responding to problem notes proactively in area of expertise. Design and deliver process equipment for process improvement. Ensure quality targets achieved while meeting cost targets

Education & Experience

BS degree in Engineering. (Mechanical, Materials Science or Ceramics Engineering preferred)

7+ years' experience in manufacturing utilizing process control methodology
5+ years' experience direct manufacturing process engineering
3+ years offshore operations support experience in Asia

Skills

As a part of a team or independently set up and coordinate technical meetings on the subject matter of expertise, follow up current literature on the subject critical to manufacturing operations and future development and innovation Proficient computer skills, experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SQL Data base, Minitab, Email, internet access Test expertise to achieve manufacturing excellence

Working Conditions

Normal office conditions Exposure to some chemicals, noise, dust on manufacturing floor

Physical Requirements

Employee may be required to wear finger cots or gloves Masks may be required in the area Safety glasses may be required in the area May move heavy objects occasionally < 25# May be required to stand for long periods of time.
